Tertiary Education (Maximum: 50 points)

Venue Management Experience – Minimum 2 years (Maximum: 50 points)

10 points per year of experience in middle to senior level of management of a venue.*

Education Programs (Maximum: 50 points)

10 points for attendance to each VMA, IAVM and or EVANZ annual congress/conference.*
5 points for attendance to other venue management industry conferences and seminars.*

Intensive Education Programs (Maximum: 50 points)

20 points for Year 1 and/or Year 2 of VMA Venue Management School and/or the Leadership Institute*
Seminar/course of other venue management education programs attended.* 5 points per program

Teaching and Program Participation (Maximum: 30 points)

Speaker, instructor or program committee member in a continuing education program.* 5 points per program
15 points VMS instructor/committee member (per year).*

Publications (Maximum 50 points)

3 points per article for publications in the venue management industry.*
50 points per book for publications in the venue management industry.*

Professional and Community Activities (Maximum 20 points)

Add 2 points per year for service on a volunteer, community or professional association board or committee relevant to the venue management industry*

Total Points

This number represents the total of your points scored, but does not necessarily ensure you meet the 150 point minimum as each category carries a maximum allowable points value. The VMA will review your score when submitted and advise eligibility to proceed with your application.

I understand that the VMA Board’s decision in regard to the eligibility of my entry into the AVM Program is subject to my fulfilling the eligibility criteria and that the VMA Board’s decision is final. I have available material and/or referees to verify my points. All applicants MUST be current members of the Venue Management Association.
