Synopsis
Many public venues are owned, operated or both by Government organisations, or organisations reporting to a Board of Directors. This course is structured to give participants an insight, understanding and some helpful hints for dealing with Boards and Government organisations. Many of us are influenced daily in our working environment by decisions, reactions and political influences of elected officials or corporate Board members. Using real examples and case studies, this course is designed to enable participants to further understand the dynamics of these organisations and how to operate effectively within them.

Students will cover a variety of topics including;

  • Political awareness
  • Policy and procedures
  • Actual success factors for working in these environments
  • Written communication
  • Case studies

Learning Activity
This session will combine presentation, group discussion and case studies format. Students will be encouraged to provide feedback and give examples of their own experiences. Real case studies will be presented and students asked to discuss outcomes and ideas.
