We are passionate about recognising and promoting the incredible contributions of
venue professionals to the venue management industry.

Each year we provide VMA members with the opportunity to celebrate high achieving
colleagues and nominate them for awards in the following three categories:

Venue Professional of the Year

Recognising the outstanding contribution of a venue professional to the venues, people and communities to which they belong, both current and past. Nominees must be an Active VMA member.

The selection criteria to consider:

  • The Venue Management Association and Industry as a whole;
  • The Community in which the Nominee operates;
  • In support of personal development, study, research and publishing of papers/articles of relevance to the venue management industry;
  • And particular significant contributions and achievements made by the Nominee.

Young Achiever of the Year

Recognising and promoting up-and-coming venue professionals and their valuable contribution to the industry so far. This award is for VMA members (active or allied) who are 30 years of age or under as at 1st May each year.

The selection criteria to consider:

  • Current position of Nominee including tenure and time within the industry;
  • A description of career achievements to date, including the characteristics and attributes of the Nominee;
  • Outline of major professional and personal achievements;
  • And a written reflection by the Nominee.

Allied Professional of the Year

Recognising the outstanding contribution of an allied professional to the venues, people and communities to which they belong, both current and past. Nominees must be an Allied VMA member.

The selection criteria to consider:

  • The Venue Management Association and Industry as a whole;
  • The Community in which the Nominee operates;
  • In support of personal development, study, research and publishing of papers/articles of relevance to the venue management industry;
  • And particular significant contributions and achievements made by the Nominee.

Financial members of the VMA can nominate a colleague for an award. The colleague must also be a member of the VMA, either Active or Allied.

The VMA Membership Committee make their recommendations to the VMA Board, who will then make the final decision on the Award recipients.
